Extreme E is the first sport developed for a social reason. The series aims to highlight the impact of climate change in some of the world's most remote environments, encourage the adoption of electric vehicles to pave the way for a low-carbon future, and represent the world's first platform for equal opportunity motorsport. The five-race global journey will use the sport's platform to promote electrification, sustainability and equality. It's incredibly fulfilling to be able to combine this with my passion for racing."Įxtreme E is a radical new off-road racing series created by the same team as Formula E, featuring electric SUVs and futuristic technologies in some of the world's most remote and extreme environments. Since leaving Formula 1 as an active driver, my career has revolved around sustainable technologies. The series offers a unique opportunity to not only raise global awareness of climate change, but also to inspire action in the fight against it. Nico Rosberg, Founder and CEO of Rosberg Xtreme Racing: "I am very proud to announce Rosberg Xtreme Racing's entry into the Extreme E. One of the first projects RXR will support in its inaugural season is an initiative by the Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco, which works with rural communities in Senegal to monitor available water resources and vegetation status. RXR's commitment also extends to activities and projects away from racing, with the team working with high-profile institutions leading social and environmental initiatives at race venues. In 2019, Rosberg founded the Greentech Festival, a global platform for pioneering green technologies and sustainable lifestyles.Ī key factor in RXR's entry into Extreme E is the series' commitment to educating audiences about the consequences of the ecological crisis and inspiring them to take action in the fight against climate change, both internationally and locally. Through his entrepreneurial efforts, Rosberg supports companies that are developing groundbreaking solutions on the path to a sustainable economy. Since retiring from Formula 1, Rosberg has invested in numerous successful start-ups in the field of sustainability, including the all-electric Formula E. RXR builds on the team's success in the German Touring Car Championship as well as Nico Rosberg's career as an entrepreneur in sustainable mobility.
